The City of Hillview offers great recreational areas that are available to all Hillview residents! These recreational areas include a gymnasium, skate park, outdoor volleyball, outdoor basketball, outdoor walking/running track, pavilion areas with picnic tables and much more. All of these areas are open daily with the gymnasium schedule located at the bottom of this page.
 
Our park located between the Hillview Community Center and Russ Hall offers a picnic area with a covered pavilion, picnic tables and charcoal grills. This park also offers a large field that is perfect for soccer, football, frisbee, flying a kite or other similar activities. This park is available on a first come first serve basis.

During the Spring and Fall, the Hillview Recreation Department offers youth volleyball and youth soccer leagues. Call Terry Bohannon at (502) 957-4444 for further information about these leagues.

Rentals

The Recreation Department also has several rental options for your birthday parties, meetings, family reunions, weddings & wedding receptions and much more. Our rates are listed below for your convenience, and subject to change without notice.

Gymnasium (298 Prairie Drive, Building A)

  • $30.00 per hour for Hillview Residents
  • $40.00 per hour for Non-Residents
  • $500.00 refundable security deposit is required
  • Accommodates 200 people

Meeting or Small Party Room (298 Prairie Drive, Building A)

  • $20.00 per hour for Hillview Residents
  • $30.00 per hour for Non-Residents
  • $500.00 refundable security deposit is required
  • Accommodates 38 people

Richard Terry Hall (283 Crestwood Lane)

  • $90.00 per hour for Hillview Residents (includes use of kitchen)
  • $100.00 per hour for Non-Residents (includes use of kitchen)
  • $1,000 refundable security deposit is required
  • Accommodates 200 people

NOTE: Richard Terry Hall may be rented in 24 hour increments for a rate of $1,000.00 

Russ Hall (298 Prairie Drive, Building B)

  • $35.00 per hour for Hillview Residents
  • $45.00 per hour for Non-Residents
  • $500.00 refundable security deposit required
  • Accommodates 60 people

Jesse Schott Memorial Gym (new gym, 298 Prairie Drive, Building C)

  • $75.00 per hour
  • $500.00 refundable security deposit required
  • Accommodates 200 people

Rogers Group Room (298 Prairie Drive, Building C)

  • $50.00 per hour
  • $500.00 refundable security deposit required
  • Accommodates 52 people

Hammers Hall (298 Prairie Drive, Building C)

  • $50.00 per hour
  • $500.00 refundable security deposit required
  • Accommodates 40 people

 

 

 

All rental payments can be paid by check, money order, or credit card.

Attention Renters: You must pick up the building key, pay rental fees in full, and sign the rental agreement on the last business day prior to your rental. An additional $25.00 will be applied if a Hillview City employee must grant you access to the building. The additional $25.00 fee will be required at the time access is granted.

Meetings

Alcoholics Anonymous meet at the Hillview Government Center every Wednesday at 8:00PM EST. Anyone interested in attending is welcome.

"Taking Off Pounds Sensibly" (TOPS) meet at the Russ Hall every Thursday at 6:00PM EST. Contact Margaret Greegor at (502) 955-9212 for more information.

Every Thursday from 6:00PM - 9:00PM EST at the Hillview Government Center, local musicians gather for a Bluegrass Jam Session. This event is free to the public.

Gymnasium Schedule

Gymnasium is open to Bullitt County residents only. No exceptions! *Gymnasium schedule is subject to change without notice*

Summer Months - June  through August (when school is out)

Small children, 12 & Under, are invited to play in the gymnasium every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday between the hours of 10:30AM – 1:30PM EST. 

Gymnasium rules are to be adhered to at all times. One warning will be given for a violation of gymnasium rules, and a second warning will be ground for expulsion from the gymnasium.
